Why giddy-yoyo

May 16, 2011

I am continuously on the look out for great products that I want to support and promote – especially when it comes to chocolate. Mark and Bridgette have been at it for the last few years and have brought their love for chocolate to life.

They have masterfully created a line of raw chocolate bars that are made with Love and Gratitude, 70% plus pure cacao paste, chocolate, pure cane sugar and crafted essence extracts for each bar. Whether mocha, mint, ginger, orange, spice or just plain delicious original.

Why Giddy Chocolate?

As you know, I am not one for packaged products, but there are a few that I endorse and think are a great addition to a balanced lifestyle. Especially when it comes to chocolate. Since most commercial chocolate bars are just not an option (being loaded with sugar, dairy and containing cocoa that is devoid of any nutrition), why not get your hands on some pure giddy love. Carry them around in your purse or car (though not on a hot summer day). Keep them in your freezer, bring them to a movie, share with a friend – or mix into recipes.

I like to crumble my mint giddy yoyo bar on top of some Coconut Bliss ice cream for a chocolate – minty dessert. I have also crumbled down the original and ginger to top on some strawberries for a refreshing and tasty dessert. Your options are limitless.

The giddy yoyo chocolate is from the most pristine and exotic lands. They way the cacao processed is minimally invasive keeping the cacao as intact and as pure as possible. There is no side effects or strong caffeine-like reactions from consuming giddy yoyo, just pure enjoyment. To find out more see here.

Why Cacao?

The cacao bean is one of nature’s highest sources of magnesium and antioxidants, it is also high in iron, vitamin C, zinc, manganese, chromium, copper and fiber. Kind of like a multi-vitamin? It is also beneficial to your cardiovascular system, prevents against cancer, can balance blood sugar, lower cholesterol and makes you happy as cacao contains trytophan which is key for mood-enhancing and overall feeling good!

Now that you know why chocolate is so good for you,  I want you to have the chance to try one of these amazing bars.  I only have a few bars to give away, so please tell me why you are worthy of a giddy yoyo bar.

I love raw chocolates! I discovered Chocosol about 5 years ago and was hooked (though they mostly use roasted cacao in their chocolates). I love the depth of flavour you get with a minimally processed or especially raw chocolate. Mmm!

I love chocolate – all kinds: milk, dark, semi-sweet, with nuts…. but I’m on a quest for “clean eating” and giving up treats is challenging! giddy-yoyo may be able to help the transition.

I looove chocolate! I haven’t heard of this brand but really want to try it!!

I love chocolate! I’ve never heard of this company, but I would love to try it. I’ve never tried raw chocolate bars before, but I do love raw cacao nibs.

Hi Marni! Thanks for highlighting such a great product and company on your post today!I adore chocolate as many people do. For me, my love of chocolate stems as much from my memories associated with it as just the pure decadent taste of it. Growing up, my mom and I weren’t particularly close. She worked 3 jobs so needless to say she wasn’t around very much and when she was I just remember her sleeping from sheer exhaustion. I tried to help in whatever way that I could and one of the things I would do is save whatever goodie I was given during class whether it be a crafted card or a juicebox for her. She always smiled and said thank you, but I remember her face just lighting up when I brought back an entire bar of Hershey’s with Almond. That was quite an extravagant treat for us back in those days. I remember us sharing that bar of chocolate and I just felt so happy that I made her happy. Chocolate has always been something my mom and I shared, a secret that’s only for us. Nowadays I like to send my mom a box of gourmet chocolate whenever I travel to a new place or just because. I’d love for her to try giddy yo-yo, especially because as she’s gotten older she’s become more sensitive to caffeine. She now stops eating chocolate after 2 in the afternoon or else the caffeine will make her jittery and keep her up at night. I think it’s great giddy yo-yo strives to honor the essence of cacao and maintain its purity. That just means more of the good stuff for choca-holics like me and my mom!

  6. What a great product review! Thanks, Marni!

When I was a kid my dad deemed me the “little chocolate monster”. Although I no longer desire milk chocolate, or processed halloween style candy, I do crave something sweet (especially if I’m stressed or hormones are out of balance). If an apple with almond butter doesn’t sustain my craving my go-to’s often include dates with cacao nibs stuffed instead or raw chocolate butter (which is hard to find and can be pricy, but it’s better than Nutella). I’ve never tried giddy yoyo, but would love to give it a go! Sounds like an even healthier alternative to organic dark chocolates. Sign me up!

What a fantastic company! I absolutely LOVE chocolate! I love experiencing all different kinds! I looove anything really rich. I have never tried a raw chocolate bar, but if it’s anything like raw brownies, I am sure it is delicious! Raw cacao has such a deep and wonderful taste, I don’t think roasted can even compare ;) Now my mouth is watering!!!! hahaha

  8. These bars look amazing! After your suggestion of enjoying the bars on Bliss I can’t wait to try the two together :)

I love chocolate, the darker the better and if it is raw, then even better. I am currently loving Righteously Raw Caramel chocolate and Chocosol’s chocolate. It’s funny because I was at Noah’s and I recently saw the giddy yoyo chocolate there and given your review I should have followed my instincts and bought one!!

    • Righteously Raw is a fab bar as well…but you must give giddy a try!!

Will do!! I am also hoping you are still going to be doing your retreats next year. I had wanted to attend last year but was pregnant and in the midst of 1st trimester nausea and this year I am breastfeeding so couldn’t make it. I’ve already told my husband that next year, if your retreat is available, I am going!!:)
